Description

I am trying to style the WLineEdit widget of WInPlaceEdit, but no luck.

My first try was to use WInPlaceEdit::lineEdit() to obtain the pointer, and then WLineEdit::setStyleClass() - but cannot observer change. Could somebody please point me to an example where this is being done successfully?

I don't know why you're not having any luck. I can add a style class to the line edit with addStyleClass() just fine.
