hey,

when a submenu item is selected, but the submenu itself was not, the item is not rendered correctly (see attached png).

With the provided test case select menu items in this order:

sub menu -> item -> item 2.

Now, to get the correct selection rendering select sub menu 2 (the parent of item 2).
