Here is a list: http://redmine.webtoolkit.eu/projects/wt/wiki/Sample_Wt_Applications

But that is not a complete list I think. Wt users and developers are quite secretive about their projects looking at the lack of bragging that usually other projects are good at, mostly the US ones e.g. NodeJS and MongoDB. Emweb should be promoting their users and Wt community on their front page.

From the list of application listed at the link above, following three projects are very impressive (the others are impressive too, but they have problems such as performance, lack of good interface etc):

1. Wt Homepage

  1. http://musicplayr.com/
  2. http://mupuf.org/blog/2012/11/01/wtcomments-a-secure-way-of-serving-comments-on-static-blogs/

Maybe because they violate Wt GPL license. I think GPL is very restrict Wt by comparing to LGPL

Emweb should be promoting their users and Wt community on their front page.

I've many doubts about Wt itself, although it's technically super awesome (may be because I'm C/Qt developer) but I don't really trust in it as strategy option because it hasn't big community (by comparing to PHP based toolkit as example) in addition to weak promoting by Wt maintainers.

Personally I don't see most of them impressive because most of them are not widget based websites (ex. front page of musicplayr.com built on jQuery and basically I doubt it uses Wt!!!). So as you said before Emweb should be promoting Wt because the competition with other toolkits is very tough.

"Maybe because they violate Wt GPL license. I think GPL is very restrict Wt by comparing to LGPL"

I don't think that is a deterrent. Look at both MongoDB and Node.js, they both are soup of various OSS licenses. Yet they have a very vibrant community.

There is this chicken and egg problem here, you cannot get more people to join the community unless there are more people already in the community. Hence I always request Emweb to promote whatever paid* and unpaid customers they have on the front page of webtoolkit.eu. Whatever projects are listed on the site are buried under the Wiki. Projects/Users should be promoted with logos, links to project/company etc on the front page for everyone to see. Whenever a new visitor comes to webtoolkit.eu website, he/she should first see what Wt is and who uses it. The rest of the information should follow after that.

Wt projects are a combination of JavaScript(including jQuery) and C. So it is no wonder that you see jQuery used on musicplayr.com. As for your doubt of whether Wt is actually used for development of musicplayr, just view the source code of the webpage and you will know (user your web-browser's developer tools to view the source of that webpage)! It has Wt written all over it. Emweb won't lie. Remember they don't promote very well even the projects that use Wt, so why do you think they will lie by promoting a false project?

* I completely understand that Emweb is a very tiny company with limited resources and away from tech buzz-hubs of Europe and America, and most of their customers shy away from revealing their names. But that should not discourage them from giving a shout to their paid and unpaid users for help regarding various Wt projects and asking whether they are okay if their project is promoted on webtoolkit's front page.

One very good project is by Martin Peres; Remote Power Management, which uses Wt and RaspberryPi. What can be more rewarding than someone mentioning Wt and RaspberryPi together on a blog with actual working project? Emweb should take this opportunity and amplify this association by mentioning it on the front page along with other projects. Just my 2cents!

I'm completely agree with you, Emweb has to afford promoting Wt because this reflects on the company on first place and the community (the life of Wt itself).

Hey,

I'll gladly takes these comments for a next strategic meetins (I tend to agree).

It's not that our customers are in particular shy of revealing their names, since several are large companies who are referenced from many other places anyway. It's just that currently we've not done our promotional work well.

Actually I learned in the hard way, that promoting any project (open source or commercial too) is most important than the project itself. There are many simple even stupid projects have clever promoting means so you can find that their community is huge (this means $$$$$).

Personally I suggest to redesign you website this gives the visitors the first impression what this Toolkit can achieve. Create some galleries some promoting screencasts and tutorials (just like Qt folks)... this affect on the community and the company too.
