For a 20x20 grid, with bar width 1, the bars seems to overlap a quarter of their size with the adjacent bars.

Trying with excessive number of bars - 200x200 - the result is not as expected BUT performance remains good.

Seems to be okay - setting values higher than 1 produces colorful results though. :-)
